4/30/20 – The ĢƵ Foundation raises $1 million to support scholars and their families during the COVID-19 pandemic.
On April 1, 2020, the ĢƵ (the ĢƵ Foundation) launched fundraising campaign. Inspired by the ĢƵ Luskin Academy High School’s motto, this campaign supports our 28 ĢƵ school communities through the COVID-19 pandemic. Given the significant challenges posed by the coronavirus outbreak –– including rises in unemployment, technology inequities, and food insecurities that disproportionately impact the communities ĢƵ serves –– the campaign will support basic human needs and vital educational resources for our 13,000 scholars during the school closure.
In less than two weeks, the campaign has raised $1M of its $2.4M goal. These funds will assist in providing meal deliveries, digital resources for Distance Learning, mental health services, special education support, and virtual college counseling.
